Reminder: Picture Day is Monday No school Sept 30th Tim Hortons Classroom In-class Program was a hit! The students tackled teamwork, communication skills and perservence through hands-on learning activities both indoors and outdoors. In Social Studies and Science, students began to learn about the world. Students explored maps and globes to understand where the equator is and predict the climate of areas near the equator. They also identified the seven continents and the provinces and territories in Canada, as preliminary learning to the ancient civilizations that grade 5 Social Studies encompasses. In math students continue to explore place value. We use disks and visual charts to support our development to show number in a number of ways. In P.E., it was all about THROWING towards a target.
